18 months of waiting... Is it normal?

You're not along! 18 fkn months here too! The background check takes forever！Is your application undergoing a background verification too?

Im with 16 months guys. Waiting for background checks to be done

I've met more than 10 January 2014 applicants who are stuck in background checks,which is kinda bizarre,cuz these applicants includes PNP,CEC,QSW....

My application was in the final stage since January 2015 said by my MP when he contacted the Cic on the last week of January. But till now nothing is happening...oh at least I know that I'm not alone. Tnx for your response guys!

My MP talked to CIC as well,he told my a positive selection has been made in march,but as you said, nothing happened till now since background checks are conducted by CSIS, they can't make decision without the results of investigation.But what I see is , passing the buck seems to be a habit of them.

I am 14 months now. I am May2014 applicant, Processing been Delayed because adding spouse, ECAS still showing medical received since June 2014. CIC agent told me that now waiting for background check. Did you guys check the status after 16 months?

You're gonna be fine. Everybody has to pass the background check,but unfortunately to us, it's about different levels.

17 months 13 days... called and they said still doing background checks. I also got married during PR but til a Canadian so didnt think it would affect processing times.

16 months 5 days here. Still waiting for IP. I added my wife in the middle of my application. Emailed Ottawa and they said adding her will delay the application. Not sure how much longer.

I'm Feb. 2014 applicant also waiting for PPR and DM. Did you call them and what they told you about your application.
