well, i'm egyptian , and applied 7/2011, and the visa i got two weeks ago was a visitor visa, but the point is if u applied , they r two separate processes , or u can , at least, apply and see what's going on , u'll lose nothing, if they told u that u'll get ur PR visa sooner than the deadline...
