I've wondered the same thing. My guess: If an officer has significant concerns about the actual relationship, they go straight for the interview. If the concerns are related to paperwork problems and smaller clarifications, they send a PFL instead. LVO's trends are not reliable and it's hard...

Actually, children aren't a guarantee of anything. There are numerous people on this forum who have kids together and still get called for interviews or even get rejected unfortunately.

Some people think the dharna has something to do with it, but I don't see how that would affect office affairs. They just have a heavier work load these days. Also, most people on the spreadsheet have waited around 2 weeks to get a reply, so hopefully we'll all be hearing back soon ;).

COPR return is hard to predict. Some people get it within a week but for others it can take up to a month. It's been about 2 weeks since we submitted the PP to Islamabad and no reply yet.

Not everyone is asked for nikaah signing photos or even an explanation. I provided no such pics and they never asked me anything about it.

They ask silly questions sometimes but the answers to those questions are usually straight forward and easy, so if you answer honestly and clearly, it doesn't create an issue. Some people start panicking but all you have to do is write the honest, common-sense reply. They're not supposed to...

It depends partly on which visa office is processing your application. Find other forum members from the same VO and they'll give you a good idea.

It's best to apply for outland sponsorship because her intention of coming here is to get married and settle permanently. She wouldn't be coming as true visitor so it's better not to apply for the visit visa.

Contact the visa office via email or an inquiry and ask them directly, or ask your MP to inquire on your behalf.

Just bring a copy of both. The officer will take the one they need.
