    US outland applicants' thread :)

In our case, it was only when we actually called the 'within Canada' status line 1-888-242-2100 -- together, on speaker phone, from a land line in Canada -- and got an agent to listen to us and pay attention to our problem, that we got action. Like you, we had passed the 12 month mark and felt...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Make sure you read all my posts -- I spent some time describing the steps we took to find out what was going on. You want to make sure you haven't fallen through the cracks. Best thing is to call the 'within Canada' status line and press 0 to wait to speak to an actual agent.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I also should say -- for all those people nervous about where their application has been sent -- from Mississauga our application was sent to the case processing centre in Ottawa. However, during the year it took to get approved, the file was sent to Manila, Philipines, for part of the process...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

We did everything upfront and sent the two applications together in one package by mail to Mississauga: one folder containing application for sponsor, one for applicant spouse, including all required documents, background checks, receipt for payment of fees, receipt for payment of upfront...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I went back into our emails and the only ones we received from the Case Processing Centre (ours was Ottawa) was: CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca. We sent emails as 'replies' to that address and got responses that made a difference. Only scripted responses from the IRCC web form.

Is there an email from a case officer (Mississauga or Ottawa) that you can just 'reply' to?

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Hello! We finally got through to someone who made it their business to take care of us, and my husband (U.S. citizen PR applicant) received his CoPR documents by courier on December 22nd! I don't know if you are seeing "Decision Made" status on the website, but we were, and couldn't understand...

    Decsion made

Our fear, exactly, that somehow they have marked our application for further review, but when I am able to phone the robot while visiting Toronto it checks our application, says "If we need more information, we will contact you. No interview required. No fingerprints required. We are processing...

    Decsion made

Website showed "Decision Made" in June and it is now November 14 and we have not had formal notice. By email, IRCC responds that we can "rest assured" that our application is in order, med results received, no interview required, etc., they are in process with final background checks, and we...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Just to update ... don't want to depress anyone, but our wait has been 15 months now. I am Canadian sponsor living in U.S. with my American spouse; our app for his PR was received August 2016. Everything is "in order" according to the email response from IRCC; it seems we are waiting for...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Can anyone say whether we should expect COPR by email attachment, or regular mail to our home address? I'm worried we may have missed it and I just can't find info anywhere that says exactly what you should be looking for. We made application August 2016, sponsorship by Canadian spouse...

We too have been waiting waiting ... I am Canadian, American husband, married 2003 and living in the US. Our application will be 1 year on August 15, 2017. I was approved as sponsor September 2016, and my husband's PR app has said "Decision Made" online since beginning of June and still no...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Can anyone help on this thread with timing? I am a Canadian citizen by birth living in the U.S. since 2003 with my American husband. We want to retire in Canada to be with our kids/grandkids. Our joint application was received by CIC August 2016, and I was approved as sponsor September 2016...

Decision Made on website, but no notification by mail or email

Just to add a little complication - which is why I'm extra worried -- my U.S. spouse and I are retiring so we're not looking for employment and I don't know if that means that Canada would not be so interested in us which is why they're not rushing on our application. We just want to retire in...

Decision Made on website, but no notification by mail or email

MP? Not sure who you mean? We live in the U.S. I'm getting the feeling that people think this is an unusual situation - anyone heard of it taking this long once "Decision Made" is up online?

Decision Made on website, but no notification by mail or email

yes, that I did: I emailed an inquiry to the VO on July 6 and received an email on July 13 as follows: "We verified the information you provided and have forwarded it to the responsible office. They will contact you if further information is required or if a decision is made on your...

That web form does not seem to be for our situation. Our application is with Ottawa and it is spousal sponsorship.

Can anyone help with information about timeline? I am Canadian, my husband American, we married in the U.S. in 2003 and live in the U.S. now. We made Outland application to CIC on August 15, 2016. I was approved as Sponsor and I received email to that effect on September 29, 2016. My husband's...

    joint or separate bank accounts?

I am a Canadian-citizen sponsor for my U.S. spouse (outland - we currently live in the U.S.). Our goal is to retire in Canada and I am filling out the forms to sponsor my husband for permanent residency in Canada. We have joint bank accounts in the U.S., but our Canadian accounts are only in my...
