Hey! So my wife just got her Passport back from the MCVO! Time for landing :) Just wondering what the best option is for landing? I've heard there is a special office at Pearson where they issue your papers immediately. Are there any other office like this for land crossing borders near the...

We had the PGR in May and sent it back within 24 hours. There were no hiccups at all, and our was about as straight forward an application as you can get. I guess they were just dragging their heels with us. We actually did request the GSCM notes though and they should arrive in a week or two...

Hey guys! Just wanted to chime in and offer my 2 cents. My wife and I are in pretty much the same position as Capin and (exact same position) Beto77. We applied last August and received the PGR in May. We have heard *nothing* since then. We just requested our notes as well through our lawyer. It...

Yeah so there isn't really anything to update! Literally nothing has changed since they requested the PGR in May. We paid the final fees along with the PGR so no issues there. There also isn't any medical issues and those were submitted with the original application. They did call our lawyer...

Quick question here. We had our PGR back in May and it was sent off mid-May. We haven't heard anything yet which would put it at 80+ days between PGR and PPR. Should we be worried? I noticed that they usually haven't been taking this long. Is there any way for us to check with them to make sure...

Ok my mistake. Since my spouse is living with me in Canada (although we applied outland), they sent a letter saying they required "Informe de datos registrales". On the sheet they sent, we needed to sent the fingerprints and photos, and that was it. So, does this change anything? We haven't...

Hey all! My wife and I just submitted our outland (even though she lives with me currently in Toronto through a visitor visa) application yesterday. We used a good lawyer and have (according to most people and our lawyer), a very straight forward application. Same age, education, nothing in our...

How many picture to include when sponsoring my wife?

Hey all, Just about to submit but going through all my pictures. How many is a reasonable amount to include. Right now we're at about 85 pictures and I think that may be a touch too many. I've tried to include pictures that show the progression of our relationship which includes us with each...

Sponsoring my wife who had previous domestic violence issues in Canada

Thank you so much for your responses. He definitely told the police she attacked him first though. She's just worried that this will look bad for her since it most likely will be stated in her record. Hopefully we'll get the background check back soon and find out for sure what it says. We're...

Sponsoring my wife who had previous domestic violence issues in Canada

Should we write an additional letter to explain the situation? I'm pretty sure when the police pull her Canadian record, there will be mention of these incidents. How much will that affect our application? Has anyone seen this situation before? Will it add delays?

Sponsoring my wife who had previous domestic violence issues in Canada

Hi all, We are just wondering how a previous domestic violence incident will effect our application. About three years ago my wife was working in Canada and was in an abusive relationship. It got heated one time and there was a drunk altercation at the club and her boyfriend hit her. She went...

Just getting married and looking for the absolute best path/option for PR

So in a digital age we don't really have much *physical* mail addressed to us (although we do have a wedding invite from last year). We have a metric ton of emails though about everything from weekend plans to travelling which are for both of us. I'm just worried about including emails as...

Just getting married and looking for the absolute best path/option for PR

Oh wow, that's terrible. Luckily we have tons of documentation to prove that we're in a very genuine relationship, including pets, living situation, bank account, travel documentation, etc. We also have well over 100 references from friends and family which could testify that we are absolutely...

Just getting married and looking for the absolute best path/option for PR

Hi Gsize, thanks for your response. What was the reason you were denied? Why did it take 5 years!? Even if we apply outland, she is staying here in Canada with me as her visitors visa is valid until 2020. I make enough so there's no need for her to go back and work.
