    INLANDERS!

We had a great big party on the weekend. It was great. My friends decorated the apartment with balloons representing the colors from my countries, Mexico, Costa Rica and now Canada. It was a blast.

Muchas gracias! Estoy de lo mas feliz. No me lo puedo creer. No plans other than go back to work that day. I am sure I will celebrate on the weekend though. My friends who know how this process is are eagerly awaiting a Landing Party. :-) Thanks everyone for your good wishes!

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2010

Hi Gwaii, I applied in 2009 (December 30, 2009) and I am still waiting. I have my AIP and OWP. I was able to find a job quickly after receiving my OWP and have kept quite busy but I am really looking forward to getting PR. According to my FOSS notes my bf date is this Thursday so I guess we...

Hi Jean, Welcome to the inlanders thread! You are correct, permenent residents are entitled to work and have health care however what people are refering to is the Open Work Permit which if approved (this happens after you receive approval in principal) will allow you to work while you wait...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2010

Always take what the agents say with a grain of salt. I called when my date had passed for AIP and was told the same thing (call in 30 days etc), I called a week later and was told my letter was in the mail. The agents will give you pat respones but may not know that your file is being looked at...

    INLANDERS!

Black-berry, I feel stunned to read what you posted. I cannot believe it. I am so sorry. But like everyone has said, you are strong and tough and will be just fine. Your marriage is legitimate so think of this as a formality. Hopefully your local office will process you quickly. We are all here...

    INLANDERS!

We are totally in the same boat. I sent in my police certificate a couple weeks ago and now I am just going to try to be patient. I'll keep you posted on any progress. BTW, it took about 10 days for my FOSS notes to arrive, not the 30 days I was told.

    INLANDERS!

I found the bring forward date on my FOSS notes. Looks like I can just sit back and not worry as I won't be hearing anything until after the end of December. It was worth ordering FOSS notes just for that. :)

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2010

Love _Young, I think the police certificate must be received within three months from when the police certificate was issued. So for example, my police certificate was received at CPC on Oct 8, 2010 but it won't be attached to my file until around mid-December. Adzees, Thanks for the tip...
