I've read a few post where Indian immigration has hassled spouses departing India, demanding a police clearance certificate. Has anyone had any personal experience or can anyone comment on this? (My wife is flying out from Hyderabad) Thanks.

Well, my wife got her passport back with a shiny new visa on it. It was dated the 11th of July. So glad this is finally over. And congrats vik on your ecas update!!! Also Manny, They send the PPR by mail.

Thanks! I was notified by ecas tracker about the status change at about 4:45am EST. This is exactly what it says when I click on decision made:

:o My wife's ecas now says "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision. " :o Since there was no interview, am I right in assuming she has been approved?!! Also, how long does it usually take until she gets her passport back? Thanks.

Hey, Been a while since I've been on here. Congrats to everyone who got their PR and to DNT for getting the PPR! No update on my status other than my wife's address disappearing from ECAS for a few days now (not sure if it means something or just the usual ecas hiccups).

Yep, you are correct. Ecas was updated on the 9th but it said they started processing the application on the 6th on June.

We sent it to: High Commission Of Canada- Immigration Section 7/8 Shantipath, Chanakyapuri New Delhi 110021 India

We used Blue Dart's domestic priority service.

They generally ask for your passport early (for us it was a week after the file was transferred to Delhi). I have seen a few cases where they have taken a while to send out a passport request though.

For those wondering why they can't log onto ecas yet, I just wanted to say it took almost a week after I recieved my sponsorship approval to be able to log onto ecas.
