Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to ask a question on behalf of my friend. He applied a visitor visa for his fiancé and it got approved. But she has not visited canada yet. Now my friend wants to withdraw his sponsorship and get his fiance’s visa cancelled as they are not together anymore.
Is it something do-able?
Thank you

Can he not take his sponsorship out telling ircc he no longer takes responsibility of the visitor?
He's not responsible for her so there is nothing to take out.

There is no such things as sponsorship for a visitor visa. This is not a family sponsorship issue. He just invited her, and cannot cancel it. She was approved based on her profile not because of fiancé. She can come to Canada if she wants.

Alright, I understood the concept here. Actually the situation here is that the girl in this case lives in a different country where she works illegally. By illegal i meant that she works on a payroll in a certain company where she doesn’t actually physically work. And even after resorting to such deeds, she is not sure that if she would get PR in that country. So she is planning to come to canada and apply asylum. So this is little bothersome for my friend. Any suggestions we can do something about it?

You can report it to the IRCC . But it’s if someone HAS committed immigration fraud . Not possible fraud
This is all hearsay
He said, she said .

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/protect-fraud/report-fraud.html

Tell him to let it go . And maybe next time don’t be so fast in getting involved when someone wants to visit Canada
Next time visit them in their country or wherever they are

By do something about it what do u mean, this is pretty confusing. You said your friend helped her get Canadian visa, how can she get visa from a country where she’s illegally working in that doesn’t make much sense. Bottom line is if he already helped her get a visitors visa that’s done and over with there’s no turning that back plus just now on buddy and count your losses if you no longer are together. It’s a visa not a million dolllars or life itself these things happen. Don’t be so bitter that you actually go report her to immigration before she even sets foot in the country.

There’s nothing for him to report. Just tell buddy to move on and count his losses. He doesn’t have kids with this person they’re bit married etc just move on. Do not even report anything cause there’s nothing to report.

If this girlfriend really applied for asylum, your friend could report that her information is not truthful.
Until this person actually come to Canada and apply, nothing he can do.
I mentioned reporting because her case doesn't sound like a real asylum. And she has been working illegally and trying to scam another country for PR.
And it's up to IRCC to act on it or not. Other than that, nothing your friend can do.
