Passport request for Super visa while visiting Canada

Hello All,

I have a query. We applied for our mom's super visa in sep 2021, however I had to bring my mom here in December due to her health and personal reasons. We just got a message that her super visa is approved and we had to submit her passport for stamping.

Any suggestions what should we do next? Can we get her stamping in Canada.
And can she stay here for longer duration after that?

You must have received a letter showing a link for offices where the passport can be submitted. Click that link and find the instructions for sending it to Ottawa in Canada. The instructions including the use of a return envelope are indicated on that page.

I have the same situation. Frankly don't know if we should inform IRCC first before sending the passport?

You can get stamped in Canada but to initiate a supervisa she has to leave Canada and return.

Supervisa is still a visitor visa so parents are expected to spend time outside Canada. Their best option is to try an extend their TRV, return home for a while and reenter Canada using their supervisa on their next visit.

Thank you for confirming. I’m in same situation and I hope it’s acceptable and no manor challenge to send passport to Ottawa and get it stamping. Appreciate your feedback

It is just a self explanatory letter explaining your situation and ensure to include application# , passport#, UCI# (If applicable) and have applicant sign on the letter and send it along with passport and passport request letter and you should be good.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am in a similar situation... have applied for supervisa for parents in May 2022. We got a re medicals request for Dad which was completed with negative test results and uploaded on the profile. Since then it's only processing.

They have a valid visitor visa and have been here last year too. I need to get them here so I can start working post maternity leave.

My questions-

1) Should I go ahead and follow the same process and explain it with a letter and courier documents from Vancouver, Canada?

2) may I know your country of application? Ours is Mumbai, India.

I also got stamping done for my mother super visa in Ottawa.

It is just a self explanatory letter explaining your situation and ensure to include application# , passport#, UCI# (If applicable) and have applicant sign on the letter and send it along with passport and passport request letter and you should be good.

Can I know for how long did you get back your mother passport with stamp? My mother is currently in Canada too. I sent her passport to Ottawa on Sep 15 and today Oct 5 ( 20 days) , I checked canada post tracking number, they still havent sent back the passport.

Is there any other way to stay in Canada without leaving Canada if your passport gets stamped for supervisa in Canada? My mom came here on visitor visa while her supervisa was in process. She just received passport request but I am not sure if there is any way she can stay for more than 6-8 months on super visa without extending TRV

i am in the same situation here as you guys! applied the super visa before they come to canada. while waiting, they just came by using the visitor visa ( 6 month stay). now we just got the passport request and our agent back in homecountry said that we should send the passport back to the country origin to get the stamp, then they would help the send the passport back to canada.

but i feel that's too risky and troublesome. why not just send to the ottawa office in canada ? our agent didn't give any comment just said that it is not guaranteed.

we are in a situation have idea how to proceed now.
