Writing beside my passport stamp meaning?

Hi all,

i entered Canada on on the 28th February 2018. I was wishing to stay up to nearly 6 months as a visitor and my return flight to London, UK is booked for 14th August 2018..

the immigration officer wrote beneath my passport stamp on arrival 'V27AU 2018'

What does this mean? i presume it means 27th AUgust 2018, not sure what the V stands for (visa? visitor?)

Now from the 28th Feb to 27th August is exactly 180 days (the limit i can stay as a visitor.)

My question is, does 'V27AU 2018' mean i have the right to remain in Canada until 27th August 2018.

Any idea what the best strategy for applying for an extension might be? I'm in my 40s and have been dating a Canadian girl for a year, i spent 6 months in Canada up to last summer and we've met up twice in the US and Mexico.. We'd like to make it more permanent..

Am i correct to show if we are living together, then this will stand us in good stead for obtaining an extension?
