Hello,

I am on a workpermit in canada for last 20months (NOC 2171). Now I am going back to my home country (India) end of this month.

I have a new employer, who is willing to hire me back in Canada (But the processing takes around 4 to 6 months.. including LMO). So the only option for me is to go back to India and get the new WP processed from India.

Now my question is what was the maximum duration that my new employer can file a work permit for me (Is the max 4 yr WP duration applicable for NOC 2171)?

4 years doesn't apply to occupations in NOC 0 or A. 2171 is NOC A.

If 4 year's limitation is not applicable for noc2171, what is the max duration for which work permit can be applied for ?

I've never known anyone to be issued a TWP valid for more than 3 years
