I am currently on a 8 week vacation. I currently possess multiple-entry US and Canadian visas. I entered the US on 25 February 2011 and I was given a one-month stay. My I-94 exit date is 24 March 2011. I planned to stay 2 weeks in the US and 6 weeks in Canada. Last week, I went to visit Niagara falls NY and the tour guide told me that if I had a Canadian visa, I can visit Niagara Falls ON as well. I was really delighted. So when I got the border, the Canadian Immigration officer asked me what I was here for ... I told him that I was there for a day tour and he stamped an exit date of 24 March 2011 (which matched my US exit date). In two days time, I will be flying into Edmonton, Alberta from the US for the rest of my vacation.

Will I be given a new CBSA entry stamp with a later exit date? Or will the existing stamp be used, forcing me to leave Canada too by 24 March 2011?

As far as I know, because you need a visa and have left Canada you should get another stamp in your passport.

@Baloo,

Thank you very much for your response. However, I still need to know from you this applies to visitors flying in from the US or only to visitors flying in directly to Canada from their home country.

I would assume both.

Canada is not America, yet :)
