I live in Montreal and I am on a closed work permit. A UK based firm has expressed interest in hiring me but they want me to work remotely from Montreal. They will pay me in GBP. My work permit will be valid till end of 2021. Is it permitted to work from Canada on a closed work permit, remotely for a UK firm? I know there will be issues after my work permit expires, but before that, is it permitted to work remotely? And if it is allowed, where will I have to file my taxes? Will it be to both UK and Canada?
