Hello all,
I was hoping for some answers regarding work and student visa rules. I understand that people entering canada on student visas must be full-time students in order to qualify for part-time work visas. However, my American partner would like to come to canada on a work visa and take some distance education courses through his home school in the States. Is this possible?

Thanks so much!

Sure - he can do that. He doesn't need a study visa to take distance courses through a school in the US.

Just to add...

He will need a job offer from a Canadian employer to qualify for a work visa and possible an approved Labour Market Opinion as well (if he does not fall under NAFTA).
