Hi Everyone,

I am working as a Shipping Coordinator (NOC B) since last December, however, there are some gaps I could not work in that period which is about 1 or 1.5 months. I do have a couple of question

1) According to my counting, I did work 16 or 17 hours for 2 or 3 weeks but not in a row so far. Are we counting these weeks as part-time which is 0.5 weeks?

2) I am willing to apply for CEC class. For entering the pool, do I have to wait until completing 1 year or I do not have to wait for 1 year because for the 1st application, there are no requirements or we don't have to show any proof about the 1-year experience.

I would appreciate, if you give me a advice or if you could answer these questions

Thank you,

Taylan

This is how you calculate the 1 year of work experience:

1) For any week where you worked 30 hours or more - count this as 1 week
2) For any weeks where you worked fewer than 30 hours - add up the total part time hours and divide by 30

If the two numbers above added together equal 52 or more, then you can claim a year of work experience.

What about the application, should I wait until completing 1 year or I can apply even if I don’t complete 1 year full work

Thanks

You can create your EE profile earlier. However if you get ITA before you have 1 year of Canadian work experience, make sure you don't submit your complete application until after you have the 1 year.

Hi,

I'd ask 1 more question. My Paystub always indicates 2 weeks period. For instance, Between Oct 12 - Oct 25 I worked 45 hours but I dunno How many hours I worked 1st week and the 2nd week. How can I calculate for this case because I do have some working hours like that and I only know the total hours which means 2 week period?

Thank you
