Hello,
I have a question about the skilled worker program.Assuming that you get PR status, do you absolutely have to work in the same profession as the job category that you apply under? Can you work in a related area?If the need arises, even in a different profession down the line?
Thanks a lot.

The reason for the NOC 29 requirement is that these are the jobs where there is the greatest demand and the government feels that people with these qualifications have the best chance of getting employment. As Coolguy said, you can work in any profession once you have PR. Many people find work in areas unrelated to their jobs. They earn their Canadian Experience and keep looking for work in their preferred fields. Good Luck!
