Students can not work 'off campus' during first 6 months (+ processing time of OCWP, which is around 1 month) - conditions of OCWP apply. However, all student can work 'on campus' right from the first day.MYSTERY MAN said:Is it true that a student cannot work in Canada along with his/her studies until first 6 months of the study permit has passed? 8)
Try to take money with u for the first seven months, as you also need to adapt to the conditions and also study side by side. But u can search for on campus job which will only be enough for your day to day expenses...Other than tuition u will need 6 to 7 thousand dollars...AM2807 said:thanks Inam and momi for the info...+1 to both of you
Is canada very very expensive.....how much should one have in his pocket for the initial 6 months when working is not allowed..
Well it depends on your life style. If you share accommodation and cook your meal then you should have 450 to 500 CAD per month.AM2807 said:Is canada very very expensive.....how much should one have in his pocket for the initial 6 months when working is not allowed..
Except that a student has to show besides the first year tuition, $10K for living expenses and 2-3K for travel expenses.Inam89 said:Well it depends on your life style. If you share accommodation and cook your meal then you should have 450 to 500 CAD per month.

The colleges do have on campus jobs but limited..........., secondly the Job prospects after diploma course depends upon u means how much learning you have done and how much you have adapted to their system and what is your field of expertise......., what ever college u choose don't ever choose private college, go for public colleges.......AM2807 said:I am planning for a diploma course in colleges...and colleges do not have on-campus jobs.....is it?
