hope youre well.
if someone is ona closed work permit and sponsor their spouse, what are the rights of the spouse?
Can the spouse apply for a open worl visa?
Can the spouse study?

Let me know if you need more details.
Thanks.

What do you mean by "sponsor their spouse"?

I'm asking in behalf of a couple of people. One is on a low wage. He's working with his employer to submit another LMIA for a higher wage. The other individual will be on a high wage. Essentially both will be on a high wage on a closed work visa.

What's the best way to identify the process which can be used to bring their spouse to Canada?
Secondly, what restrictions will the spouses face in terms of studying and working?
You said they can study if it's less than 6 months in duration, they are allowed to study. What about for programs longer than 6 months?
Lastly, what about securing an open work visa?
Is that allowable? If yes, what are the requirements.

I've found some answers on the IRCC site but they weren't in thr context of a closed work visa holder trying to bring their spouse to Canada.

If under low wage stream, spouse not eligible for work permit (read link). Process to apply in the link. If spouse’s want to study for a program more than 6 months they need stud permit (pay tuition and show proof of funds for at least 2 people).

Expiry date of their spouse’s WP and their ability to support their spouse if they come to Canada also will have an impact.
