I would appreciate getting some information regarding applying for work permit vs. applying for PNP (Ontario). :-\

When one should apply for work permit and when one should apply for PNP? What are the pros and cons in both cases? Thank you.

It all depends on ypur situation. Apply for WP if you get it and think you want to stay longer then apply for pnp. It can take longer to get pnp than a WP so at least you can be working while you are waiting for pnp. If you don't get the WP then apply for PNP.

A WP takes about 2 months to process. PNP can take 6 months to years depening on your situation.

Keep in mind that WP and PNP are not given to everyone who applies. Things that will determine your eligibility for either or both are.......

What type of job are you going to work at?
Do you have a job offer?
If you have a job offer can the employer prove that he could not find a Canadian tondo it?
Do you have family in the province you want to move to?
What is your education level?
How good is your English?
How old are you?
How much job experience do you have?
Do you have job experience in Canada?
Did you study in Canada?
Do you have a criminal record?

Thank you very much Mbgirlfriend.

I guess applying for PNP (assuming I am eligible for it) is better as it will eliminate multiple work visa applications / extensions in the future.

Can I work in Ontario with PNP only?

Thank you

You can get a WP with your nomination and a job offer but your employer also has to be willing to pay a compliance fee and fill out some forms. You may also need to get a letter of support from the PNP that nominates you (sometimes this are already given when you get your nomination, if not requesting one is easy and usually fast)
