work permit holder but residing in US wants to visit in-laws in Canada

I am a work permit holder but i live in the States with my husband.
My work permit is valid until mid 2018 but my visa will be expired on July 30 of 2017(Visa type:student) .I would like to visit my in-laws in Canada in late July. Do i need to apply for a visitor visa? Or i can just use my current visa and work permit to enter Canada?

You do not say what country your passport is from but assuming not a visa waiver country and you are neither a green card holder , perm US resident or US citizen it is likely you will need a visa.
