If you have an approved LMIA from your employer, you can certainly apply for a work permit.

Hello Scylla , what do you mean an approved LMIA ? Thank you

Your employer has to submit an LMIA application and then get that LMIA application approved. Does your employer have an approved LMIA for the role?

You said you have an "LMIA teaching job offer".

Thank you for your reply .
I have read the academic positions are LMIA exempted ?
And what if i started another research fellowship but this time a PAID fellowship ..would it be considered as work experience ?

Thank you and sorry for asking much

Hi i am in the same situation, in my case it is a change from postdoc to professor, did you get the new work permit based on an LMIA exempt for the teaching job ?

i would really appreciate your reply!
