A one year course in a public college will only qualify for a one year post grad work permit and unless you are extremely lucky the chances of walking straight into a job from graduation odds are not good to gain a full year Canadian work experience.

This is why people generally recommend going for a 2 year course at the outset and whilst as you can read in the PGWP links that 2x1 year course back to back generally can qualify for upto 3 years post grad permit it would be less hassle to go 2 years from the outset. Note always attend public colleges not private as private colleges generally do not qualify for a post grad work permit

True.kinda confused with this. if student graduates 2019.can a student taking a 2nd course to get a 2yr PGWP has to start course in Sept'19 or could student work to save money and start 2nd course sept 2020 with new rules? Would this mess up pgwp by taking break from studies

Yes.. you can once you are done with your 1year course and got pgw for 1year then after working before your pgw expire make sure you try apply for another program to maintain your status as a student to be able to stay in canada then get your visa extend . Pls make sure you extend your visa early before it expire or less it won't be possible any more... don't wait until the last day expire before going to apply for extension it won't be possible...
