Work Permit Extension From Within Canada Refused

Hi, i had applied for post graduate work permit extension on 22nd April 2024 and got a refusal today . the reasoning given was as follows-

""This letter refers to your application for a Post graduation work permit.

Based on your application and accompanying documentation that you have provided, I have carefully considered all information and I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations. Your application as requested is therefore refused.

[X] You did not submit applicable fees in the amount of $ 100 Open work permit fees. This amount includes the correct fees for yourself. Payments must be made online at www.cic.gc.ca and be submitted with a new application.""

Background- I finished my MBA in 2023 and applied for Work Permit which was approved till 19 September 2024. This was due to my passport expiring in September 2024. I then proceeded to renew my passport and then apply for work permit extension in April 2024 and paid $155 as part of the application i submitted using the GC Key account. The payment was made using a credit card and is reflecting in my statements. i have been employed since april 2024.

Ask for reconsideration with proof that you paid the fee. At the moment you are without status so can’t work.

OP didn’t pay the right fees so it was rightly refused. Work permit doesn’t expire until September so still time.

How much does a post-graduation work permit cost?
The fee for a post-graduation work permit is CDN$155; however, you must also pay the CDN$100.00 “Open Work Permit Holder” fee.

I applied august 28 for pgwp extension. My expiry is sept.6. But like you, my consultant only paid $155 so when i read your post i felt a bit scared for me. So counting from my expiry, i have 90 days to apply for restoration until dec.5. Application for restoration is 90 days after expiry right? So, i am thinking if i should apply for restoration right away while waiting for the decision. Or just wait until the decision has been made.

How are you eligible for PGWP extension? You can only extend if passport expired and then you apply via paper.
