Just got an e-mail. Status closed, decision approved. Is this really happening after 6 months? Hard to believe. I hope this means that they will send me my extension right away.

Here's my story i would like to share!
Me and my spouse are Software Engineers from India with >3 years exp. Looked options to migrate through EE in 2015 Jan from india. Points were not enough at that time even with good ielts. Planned to enter as a student. Wife came in as a student for Sept 2015 for a 1 year course. I applied for visitor visa considering that i had a good travel history, also had a full time job in a good IT firm. Visitor was taking around 5 days and Spouse OPW was 2 months. So took option 1. Applied for OWP inside canada on Oct 18 2015. processing time kept increasing, Christmas break, syria refugee program added to it. Was a constant follower of this forum from the beginning. There is not even a single day i passed without reading posts here. Though i got some inputs about MPs and Flag polling as an option, nothing worked out. (Though MPs tried to push, it took its own course). Had to put down many job offers which came my way. With mixed feelings, I am here sharing my timelines.
Applied - 18th Oct 2015
MPs confirmed its approved - Feb 5th 2016
Approved on CIC profile - 24th Feb 2016.
Waiting for hard copy.

After this prolonged wait and lessons learnt, hoping to make my next PR process a smooth one.

Hi! May I just ask, if you apply for work permit extension with the same emplyer, do you have to secure a new employment contract as well?

Hey guys, applied work permit extension in july
And my work permit got expired in Dec before my work permit got expired i got pnp
Then i sent pnp documents to CIC
Today my representative told me my application has been refused
What should i do now??
I applied for express entry n JAnuary, i was working on implied status.
Any solution?

Just got an email notification from CIC and the application was approved and closed. Hope the hardcopy will be delivered soon.

He said he was going to put a note on my file so that it can be printed but it could take another three weeks to receive it. Has anyone experienced this before?

Guys - Need an assistance on applying a Temporary Resident Visa.

Here's the case - I have received an AOR and my EE application is being processed.. while applying for Temporary Resident Visa (Work permit renewal), I have to fill-in a questionnaire on 'Check your eligibility' tool. I'm confused about selecting 'YES/NO' for the below question -

I applied for permanent residence to an office in-Canada and was determined to be eligible for permanent resident status (first stage approval).

Does anyone have any idea about this?

My case seems to be a little complicated. I submitted my close work permit extension on 21st Aug to CIC. I received AOR under Express Entry at the end of November. I am still waiting for work permit extension. The automated voice message system from CIC tells they do not need any further documents from me and the application is currently under processing. It has been more than 180 days since they receive the application. Can anyone please let me what could be reason for the delay? I am worried.. : :

We are in the same boat. I applied on Sept. 3rd and was told the work permit was approved on Jan. 17, was finally approved and updated on CIC account on March 1st..

Actually I am also going to apply TRV with my spouse but bit confused because I got AOR for our PR in last DEC 2015 with my spouse and she is in backhome... .....so please share your experience and reply thanks[/size]

The below question asked in questionnaire for reference code generation....

Are you are a spouse, common-law partner or dependent child of a person who:

Holds a Work Permit for a job in National Occupation Classification O, A, B;
Holds a study permit and is a full-time student at a university, community college, CÉGEP or other authorized educational institution;
Holds a Temporary Resident Permit that is valid for six months or more;
Applied for Permanent Residence to an office in Canada and was determined to be eligible for Permanent Resident status (first stage approval) YES OR NO
Is subject of a removal order that is unenforceable.
