work permit extension - applying for full time jobs in the mean time

hi ,

i have applied for a work permit extension ( applied before my current permit expired ).

1) can i continue working till i get my extension . or do i have to stop since my SIN number has expired ?

2) can i apply and get hired for a full time job ? ( after my current permit expiry date and before i receive an extension )


any info would be greatly appreciated .
