Work Permit Expiring Soon. Planning to Apply for a Student Visa. How to start?

Hi Guys,

My brother's Work Permit is expiring soon. His employer cant extend him anymore because they cant get LMIA.

If he wants to Study, How can he start the process? We already searched a DLI approved College and PGWP eligible program.

He needs LOA and PAL. Needs to have the cash in the bank with $22k plus tuition. Good SOP explaining why he must study in Canada, and how it leads to career advancement and higher pay when he returns home. Since he is on a WP, to IRCC studying in Canada shows that he has no intention of staying so program must be unique, not offered anywhere and if he has a degree, then a Masters or post grad program.

Hi Guys,

Same question. What do you think is my brother's best option to get PR. He graduated a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management outside Canada (He has the ECA ready). Visited here in Alberta last 2023 and was able to get a Work Permit in the Food Industry for 2 years. He has a nice IELTS score.

I saw somewhere that its hard to get through the Tourism & Hospitality Stream and he wont qualify under Family connection Stream because his job is not in-demand.

How about Alberta Opportunity Stream? Any suggestions?

Your brother already has a bachelors , they need to show progression in their education. They need to look at a Masters . It just looks like your brother came temporarily, worked and now doesn’t want to leave
