Hi Guys, if someone applied for work permit as a refugee claimant, then her claim was accepted and now she's a refugee (protected person). and her application for work permit as refugee claimant is still in the process, should she apply for a new work permit a refugee or should she contact CIC to notify them that her claim was accepted and now she's a protected person so they can provide here with work permit as a refugee not as a refugee claimant?

Thank you for your answers Smiley

She should update her status with CIC on the current application. CIC will advise on any further steps needed.

Just to add into it:

yes she can/may notify cic about her new updated status by just sending an email. the rest both refugee claimants and approved refugees gets the same "open work permit" and on the work permit CIC do not mention refugee claimant or refugee status. So she do not need to make any new application , the already submitted application will work and will be good enoff to get the work permit.
even if she do not update her application now it will work as at the time of her application she was a refugee claimant and she did not miss-presented anything, and cic will know about her positive hearing through her UCI number, moreover she still doesnt have her notice of decision in hand (as mention by her in other posts) so its still good to leave it as it is and wait for the work permit to get approved.

i know someone who was in a same situation and got his work permit with no issues.
