Work permit applied in India approved, but presently in Canada

Hi all,

I had applied for work permit from India, which was approved yesterday and CIC has requested for my passport.

The problem is, I am currently in Vancouver, Canada (I have a 10 year multiple tourist visa) for some business meetings and was wondering if i can submit my passport here in Vancouver itself, instead of traveling all the way back to India. I had spoken to some people in immigration here, and they say when I re-enter Canada, I will be given the Work permit at the port of entry and they suggested I can just go out to US and come back in, which is not a problem. I am only confused about how to get my passport stamped in Canada.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
