got a standard email response today that they are processing applications of Apr 19.
Mine is a paper based.

I got an email on Aug 21 that they are processing April 12 dates are moving very slowly.

A good news on my side...I got the WP approval letter. Applied on the first week of June.
I have a question, hope someone could advise. I am already in Canada as a visitor. For the work permit, do I need to go to the US through the US customs, then face the Canadian customs while returning from US. Or am I allowed to go directly to the Canadian custom from Canada and get the WP. BTW I am talking about the land border. Thanks again.

Hi everyone!

My work permit is finally approved jut now!! Too good to be true but it took less than 60 business days

Here is my timeline for those who want to know

Application submitted: July 12, 2013 (in person in VAC NYC)
Application type: work permit under live-in caregiver
Medical request: July 23, 2013
Medical exam: August 3, 2013
Medical exam submitted: August 17, 2013
Visa approval: September 10, 2013

Congrats!!!! You are the first one who really submitted an application (plus it was under the live in caregiver!!) and got approval such a first time!! I am so happy for you
I am pretty sure now I am going to visit the US from Canada and submit my app in person in VAC. Even I already done my medical check. So I assume I could hear the finalize within 90 days (my maximum days to stay in the US under a visa waiver).
Congrats again!!!! Where are you working? My future life will continue in Vancouver!

All applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received. An exact schedule of completion is not available at this time as our processing time is a minimum of (30) thirty days. Please be advised that as of today, we are processing files received on May 6, 2013

I just got an email saying that they are processing April 19.. hmm seems different answer to everyone.

they told me they're processing applications from May 8 as well. i submitted mine online on June 29.

so lets start mentioning along with the responses we are getting from Canadian consulate - I had inquired on last Thursday, no response yet , last I heard was May 3rd on August 30th

Mine is 'Online Outside Canada' applied on July 23rd
