Work Permit Applications at NYC for 2013

Today just received the passport of my partner with trv. Was just confused If we still need to wait for the approval of our tourist visa extension before going to the border to get the work permit and have our passport stamped. Kindly help. I applied for the extension due to long waiting time of the work permit approval. Right now we are already on an implied status not until this work permit arrived.

Hi,

Yes you need to send your passport eventhough you have your TRV already. They're not gonna give you another TRV since yours is still valid but they will issue you're LOA and they'll check your passport validity based on the copy that you sent to them (through online). You need to attach their email instructions when you send your passport. Congrats

Did anyone apply (by mail) for work permit with LMO before 22nd of Jan 2013 with Los Angeles office (LA office is no longer accepting TWP applications) and receive approval or his passport back?

I applied by mail on 7th of Jan 13 and it should have been happened as you mentioned but I'm still waiting after 4 months.

It's odd about what's happening with your applications not unless you're applying for LCP. May I ask is it your first time work permit & what work?

State your situation in the message box. They'll probably email you back between 3-7 working days.

Yes, It's my first application for TWP. I just received a response from NY that mine is being processed in LA but so far no word from LA.

Did you fill-up Use of Representative form? If so, all of the correspondence will be received by your attorney
