Dear All,

I'm a Specialist Physician and currently awaiting the outcome of my LMIA application; I am based in the UK

I have 2 questions, which I would appreciate if someone could help clarify please:

1. Does my employer need to provide me with a 'Job Contract' and a 'Job Offer Letter', I mean both or should one of them suffice in order for me to obtain a work permit?

2. Since the borders are currently shut, hence I wouldn't be able to obtain a Work Permit on landing at Toronto airport; how would I apply for a work permit? and what to do about biometrics etc.....

Apologies if any of these questions were answered elsewhere.

Many thanks in advance,

A

Thanks for getting back to me, Do you mean that my application could be processed at the Toronto Airport?

No - it doesn't mean that. You apply for a work permit online once the LMIA is approved. (Unless of course the border restrictions are no longer in place once your LMIA is approved.)

Thank you for your response; I wonder how long it would take though...

It's super hard to say unfortunately because pretty much all application processing has been impacted by COVID-19.
