Hello Friends,
I need your help in regards a matter of part time work while studying. During 2011 to 2013 I was doing full time MBA however, I was also working part time on weekends and my hours of working was 20.

I was part time Accountant.

I assessed my degrees through WES and the assessment is this "Diploma (two years) and bachelor's degree (three years)"

Can I use this experience for CEC and get some points and to qualify for federal skill worker program. I do have one year Canadian Experience.

thanks

Amar

No. If its a work experience gained while you were studying on a student permit.

I got confused in the highlighted part but to answer your question, YES.
YES, You can use past work experience (full time or an equal amount in part-time) outside Canada for additional points. You just have to make sure that if you want to claim these points, you can provide proof, an employer reference letter from that part time, payslips, etc. And the tricky part is to make it detailed showing how many hours you worked, start and end date.

CEC or FSWP, you need to provide all the required documents to claim work experience.

Usually there is 40hrs of work a week(fulltime).
There are 52 week a year. 40x52 = 2080hrs/year

You work part time 20hrs a week. So... 20x52 = 1040hrs
And you said it was during 2011 to 2013. Lets just say that was 3 years part time worth of work, 1040hrs X 3 = 3120hrs or (1 1/2 yrs)

Roughly you can claim that you have work experience as an Accountant outside Canada for about 1 year and a half.
Hope you get what i'm saying. Bottom-line is you have to secure the documents for this.

Usually there is 40hrs of work a week(fulltime).
IRCC clearly defines full-time as "30 or more hours per week"

There are 52 week a year. 40x52 = 2080hrs/year
For IRCC, the full-time equivalent (FTE) of 1 year of part-time work is 1560 hours. (Using 30 hours per week, of course).

You work part time 20hrs a week. So... 20x52 = 1040hrs
And you said it was during 2011 to 2013. Lets just say that was 3 years part time worth of work, 1040hrs X 3 = 3120hrs or (1 1/2 yrs)

To correctly calculate the FTE, the OP needs to count the weeks worked, multiply by 20 hours per week, and then divide by 30. This gives the FTE number of weeks, where one year is 52 weeks. There's no "credit" for partial years, unfortunately.

Bottom-line is you have to secure the documents for this.
Absolutely true : )
