Work in US while waiting on PR

Can a US citizen married to a Canadian citizen who is applying for PR in Canada work in the US while still waiting on receiving my PR in Canada?

If they apply for PR using the outland (outside of Canada) method - then absolutely yes.

Applying outland, you look for the application forms that state that spouse is living outside Canada. Using this application method means that you can stay in the US and work but will not stop you from coming over to visit your wife either.
