I want to apply for a work permit..I have no real skills (most my work experience is dishwasher or prep,cook) my mother is a 2nd generation citizen by descent (not sure that matters) and my girlfriend is a Canadian citizen from Quebec..I figured it would be easier to apply for a BC work permit than a Quebec one because I hardly know any French..and I have a job offer in BC..(fruit picker) do I need special permit for agricultural work? How long to work visas last for..do I have to be working the whole time? The work is seasonal and I would want to travel back and forth from Quebec to be with my girlfriend..
