I am an American living in Montreal and working with a 1yr Work Holiday Visa through SWAP. I am currently working and have been since January. My visa expires in December. I know I am unable to renew this visa but I wanted to know what my options are since I currently have a steady job. When the working holiday visa expires could I apply for a temporary workers visa and have my employer not do the LMO? Is there anyway to bypass the LMO? If not, how tedious is it for employers to complete, and how likely would it be approved (especially since I will have been working there a year)?
I am marrying a Canadian citizen in a month or so, but the spousal sponsorship seems like it will take too long and my main priority is keeping this job once the working holiday visa expires.
I have also looked into getting the CSQ but that requires one year of work, which would be too little too late for me…or is it possible to apply for that ahead of time before I actually have the year of work completed?
Thank you
