Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I have masters degree in engineering and a total of 3 years of work experience.

The sequence of events is as follows:

Bachelors
6 months of Work Experience- Company A
Masters
15 months of Work Experience- Company A
15 months of Work Experience- Company B (Present)

All of the work experience is related to my education and in the same NOC. Have got my masters evaluated from WES but have a query regarding the work experience.

As 6 months of my work experience is after my bachelors and before beginning of masters and 2.5 years after completion of my masters.

Will the total work experience be calculated as 2.5 years or 3 years?

Please advise.

AFAIK calculation of work experience is independent of your education time period. Why would you think otherwise? Is all your work experience with Company A and B under the same NOC code?

I have this doubt about the time period as the work experience is not continuous and part of it is less than one year also. And there is a break of almost two years owing to masters.

Yes the NOC code is same for both the company.

With a gap of 2 years it won't be considered as continuous work experience. I read in one of the threads a persons' work experience was not considered continuous when he only had a 33 days gap between changing employers.

This is my opinion. You could ask around in other threads too.

Thank you so much, will look in other threads too.

This cannot be considered as continous work experience. (3 years cant be claimed.)

'Continuous' work experience is for meeting the minimum eligibility criteria of the relevant economic class. While for total work experience, 3 years will count.

Can you pleas elaborate by what you mean that 'continuous' is for meeting minimum eligibility and for total 3 years will count.
Thanks

Your total work experience would be counted as 3 years.

Use this tool to calculate your CRS score http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Also check how you score under FSW minimum 67/100 selection factors http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

I am assuming that your experience was gained outside Canada. If yes, then you fall under FSW category. Check the requirements listed here, you will find the answer to your question http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

Yes, my work experience was gained outside Canada. Thank you so much for clarifying. These 6 months were making a big change in the CRS points.
