Hello,

Does unpaid training count as work experience?

I am short 15 days in my work experience completion of 2 years.
My work permit has ended.

EE profile only requires month and not the date. So if I started on APril 22, 2014 and finished working on April 1,2016. Does that count as 2 years?

Please advise as I need the points fr 2 years.

You can't count any unpaid or voluntary work as work experience. The express entry profile work experience section counts by month not by days so from April to April is a year.

This, but with a caveat. Doda is correct about unpaid/voluntary work not counting. Its also true that EE profile counts experience in terms of months, not exact dates. OP's work experience from April 22, 2014, to April 1, 2016, will therefore be counted as two years in the EE profile, with CRS points calculated accordingly.

However, when submitting the eAPR, you will need to provide LOR's verifying the employment(s) for which you claimed CRS points. The LOR should mention the dates worked at the company, among other requirements. The VO could technically consider the above dates as less than 2 years of work experience, thereby recalculating your CRS score. If your recalculated score is below the cutoff during that particular draw, then your application will be rejected.

I invite others to share their thoughts.
