Its true that the big companies have a set template for reference letters, but you will need ROLES/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES listed out. Its very important that your reference letter has all that.

If you get a letter mentioned for example as Manager Finance or IT it does not help, your ROLE/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES should be mentioned which the VO will cross-check against what is listed in the CIC Roles/Responsibility list. If the DUTIES/JOB RESPONSIBILITIES match he will conclude that you are eligible/fall into that NOC category.
So do something to get it........prepare a letter template and give it to your company folks to get something similar......... .or else you will be at the mercy of the VO's mood on that day coz he will not have anything against which he can verify.......

If your HR Guys do not budge, I would suggest take the letter your HR Dept gives you and additionally prepare a letter on your own listing out your JOB Responsibilities and get it signed from your immediate manager......at least you will have things listed out.

Good Luck

you need to provide your detail job description on company's letterhead else the VO will reject your application.

Sorry I cannot give you a reference, but I recall reading that you can get colleagues to give an affidavit of the work you do. Does anyone else remember this? If you are not able to get the job duties written by your boss, then it is imperative to write a covering letter describing the efforts you have made. Think about it from the VO perspective ....what would convince me that this person has actually done this job? If possible get the business card of your supervisor so that VO can contact them directly if required. Good Luck.

As per my experience and CHC request from mr .. CHC will strictly concentrate on the job description from your current employer or your last employers.. so you should submit you job resposabilities for your last /cusrrent job and it has to be in letter head and stamped/signed by authorized person .

Also you can write this inforamtion by your self and sign it from your supervisor and then stamp it as you have to send the original.
