Hey everyone,
I'm applying for PR under FSW2. I'm a software developer and I have letters of reference sent by my previous employers through email. Is that alright? Is it considered 'original'? If not, do I have to ask them to mail me a physical (aka paper) letter of reference? Thanks in advance for your input.

Hi, it will be worth your while to have an original reference: on a company letterheard listing the duties you have performed. That is the instructions. Please ask them to give you a paper reference.
In some cases, one genuinely cannot get a letter reference, thus resort to different ways of proving work experience. In your case, you can get it, so please do to save time and prevent the risk of application being returned for not providing satisfactory work experience...ok going round in circles....but bottomline is ..GET ORIGINAL PAPER REFERENCE..Mandie :D

Thanks for your advice. I have another question though, I worked for a big company previously that puts me through a lot of red tape. They don't want to put "To Whom It May Concern" in the address line, they want it to be more specific. Is "To The Immigration Office" just fine?

Hi if you dont have a choice then "TO THE IMMIGRATON OFFICE" will suffice.

But be sure that you get the experience letters on proper company letter head.

Cheers..
