Guys,

For the Work Experience in Canada, in the document checklist they have requested to provide letters of reference for the past 3 years. I was in Canada for 2 years and rest of the time I was in India. So should I provide supporting documents for the past 3 years, which will include my Indian work experience or should I just limit with Canadian details?

Please suggest!

Hi Paveen,

One reference will enough in your case, as you are deputed from india to canada services on WP(ICT/LMO)

One employer one reference letter.

As per company policy, company will not provide reference letter. So I am gonna write a cover letter explaining the situation. So should I provide details for 3 years (which will include Indian exp) or 2 years in Canada should be fine?

Hi Praveen,

you should provide 3 years details which include indian exp as well.

as per CIC guidelines , you should provide the employer reference which includes your duties,Salary, work hours per week.

Hi canadacec2012, what do you mean by one employer one reference letter?
like me, from June 2011 to September 2011 i was working in Hong Kong, and from October 2011 to present I am working in Canada.

In this situation:
1. Should I list my Hong Kong job in Schedule 8 Question 5 (Your work experience in Canada)?
2. Do I need to get a reference letter from my Hong Kong employer as well?

Thanks.

To be more clear,

I worked only for two years in Canada. So does that mean I have to provide details of another one year, during which I have not worked in Canada. The Question5 asks only for "Work Experience in Canada" so why should it include Indian Experience?

Hi, can you provide your timeline and NOC code?

Who is your VO? Its the number in the signature of the email from CIC.

And the letter of references from client sites or just letter of reference from employer?

After consulting people around, I guess in Question 5 we have to list the past 3 years work experience no matter where you were working. but the reference letter can be only from your Canadian employer.

As per the guide, you have to
"Write the details of your work experience in Canada.
List your occupations within the 3 years preceding the date your application is made starting with your current occupation. List only occupations that fall in Skill Type 0 or Skill Levels A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) code."

Though I don't know how much value of the experience out of Canada would be when the visa officer evaluates our cases, the relevant work experience outside Canada may help to a certain extent......

Need more seniors to confirm.

They need work experience within Canada only. They will not look at outside Canada experience. Remember, this is "Canadian experience class"

thanks ujbaby, but are you sure we don't have to list experience outside of Canada in Question 5 even it was in the last three years?

Work experience within Canada is the title.
You only list experienced gained in Canada. Everything else goes on the background dec.
