Work experie calculated from date of course completion or date of degree certifi

Hi ,
I am going to submit my application as Mechanical Engineer
Did my Mechanical Engineering course from 2006 August-2010 April
but i got my degree certificate on Jan 2012 as i was having back papers
and i am working from May 2010 to present as Project engineer(ie. 4 years and 3 months)
So my doubt is will me work experience be calculated as 4 Years and 3 months
or
2 years and 7 months from the date or receiving my Degree?
