Hi, I was wondering if anyone in this Forum has been confronted with the dilemma that I am currently facing. I had applied for the FSW application about an year and a half ago. I had received a letter from the Canadian High Commission asking me whether I wanted them to proceed with the application. It was not until last week that a friend informed me about the new and supposedly faster track in which my profession is listed as one of the desired categories. What would be the consequences or the wisdom of withdrawing one’s application from the previous ‘system’ and re-applying under the new system?

Thanks

Hi BobbyB,

Thanks for your help....Even though the link is helpful, ironically, it does not reduce the confusion!

Thanks again

caliban4ever,
I am in the same situation. As I have been waiting for sometime now, I have just decided to leave the whole matter the way it is (OLD FSW Application).

I'd rather wait than "wake up a sleeping and hungry Lion".

Good Luck and Best wishes.

Dear caliban4ever,
If your job fall in the 38 NOC list, you should resubmit your application for faster processing. Otherwise you may go with the current application which may require more time. CIC want the applicants to withdraw current applications and resubmit them, which they do not disclose officially. This is my opinion.

Pls. let us know your decsion.

Hi
Take this as my own idea but I did it for myself and I guess it is for sure now:
You do not have to withdraw your old application and submit a new one. If your occupation is listed and you can get enough points to qualify, just submit a new application. CIC has formally announced that you can have both PRE and POST C-50 applications so it would not hurt to apply again if you do not mind maying another application fee. However, if your current waiting time is not so long, you might decide to keep the first one going instead.

For me, my old application was filed in 2006 and the according to my visa office waiting time, I would have to wait another three years just to submit my full application. I re-applied under the the new rules, got confirmation from the Sydney CIU and submitted the full application to the local visa office in less than three months! So I did it all in three months while it would otherwise take three years! Whether my application will be approved is another story though! I will still have the old application running so I am not worried if this one fails....

Right step is taken by wpc71 to make the process faster. Hope you get positive result soon.

Dear wpc71, do you think CIC will return application fee of previous one ? Or now you will ask them to withdraw old application and the fee back ?

Thanks.

Guys,
The question here is:
"Do we get our fees for the first application back or not".

With the current world situation every Dime is useful. Losing Can$1100 + Bank Charges is no joke. This is hard earned money.

Then, spend the time and Money again?

And, if you take a look at trackitt.com, even those who applied under the new rules have been waiting for quite sometime - over 9Months. What is the Guarantee that you will get it within a Year?

I say if you have a job, then relax, stay put where you are in the meantime - wait and let it come when the time is ripe - period.

Hiya, Thanks for all the messages.... I have about a week in which to write back to the embassy to claim my refund. Times are hard and the amount is nothing to scoff at. As my profession is on the new (not so new now) list... I guess it would not be a bad idea to try it...and hopefully the system would work.

Thanks for reply. pls. keep in touch and let us know whether the money is back.

Probably Many members of this group need to know if CIC refund the money when they reject application (FSW) in the context of 38 NOC list and if anybody withdraw application to resubmit it later or he/she apply under any other category.
