Hi everyone, I currently have a multiple tourist visa that will expire on 2022. My concern is, is it easy to get an extension after the 6months allowed stay in canada? I want to stay in canada for 1 year with my boyfriend to be qualified to apply for PR under commonlaw partnership.

Thank you. Any answer is much appreciated.

Yes if he can prove that he can support the both of you. You should specify in your extension that you need to extend your stay to qualify as common law. This is a common request.

Do you think stating we are planning to apply for PR after 1year is enough reason for them to grant me extention? No issue about the capacity of my boyfriend to support both us during the stay.
