Hello Ma'am and Sir,

Good Morning

I have two questions for all of you here. Hope you can enlighten me, i am really confused.

I am planning to extend my stay as a tourist to be sure since my duration of stay will end on june 1, 2016. I will be submitting my tourist visa extension tomorrow. My tourist visa validity will expire on July 16, 2016. My inland spouse application is already received in CPC.

to be clear. - Duration of stay allowed in canada will end on june 1, 2016
- Tourist Multiple entry Visa validity will expire on July 16, 2016.

1. My question is can i extend for another 6 months even though my visa is valid up to july 16, 2016?
or just an extension from June 2, 2016 up to July 16, 2016?

Just wondering what dates do i put on the IMM 5708 on page 3 question number 2. "Indicate how long you plan to stay"

I want to put 6 months, if that's possible.

Please help guys, thank you.

Try to avoid using the term "visitor visa".

So...

- TRV expiration date: July 16, 2016
- Visitor Status expiration date: june 1, 2016

Yes, you can ask for as much time as you need and want. CIC will evaluate your case and will give you less, more or the amount of tiem you ask for depending on your specifics.

TRV and Visitor Status are not related once you are in Canada, so a TRV can be expired during the extension.
