Hi,
I'm posting this question on my friend's behalf. He has 11 months of Canadian work experience in 2013 and then he left Canada. re-entered in Canada in 2019 for the same employer, with same job code (NOC 2174) and completed 1 month . He is planning to initiate his PR thru express entry as federal skilled worked (NOC 2174) .

The question is, to qualify for the points towards 1year experience in Canada, does CIC consider only last 3 years or will it include any experience within 10yrs?

We are confused because CRS score calculator asking experience in last 10years, whereas the profile questionnaire is asking in 3years. Appreciate any confirmatory answer. Thanks.

It's a two step process. To qualify for CEC, you need 1 year of Canadian experience in the past 3 years. So your friend would not qualify for CEC.

However, he is applying under the FSW class.

As he does qualify for FSW, he would have gotten extra CRS points if he had Canadian work experience in the past 10 years. This experience needs to be full time, and continuous under the FSW rules. So no, he will not get CRS points for 11 months + 1 month after that long a gap. It's not continuous.
