Will this be considered lying?

Hi guys.

On the IMM1294 form, under cost of studies, for the room and board: I wrote $7,294 which was the cost of the room and board in my university of choice. However after applying for my visa, I decided to go for another room type and the cost is now $9,800 for room and board. Will they verify with the university about this?
Personally I don't know if they would consider this misrepresenting as I changed my mind later on. Also, I have enough funds in the bank to cover this type of room and board.

Any input will be appreciated!

I don't actually think that would be a big deal or reason for refusal to be honest. As long as they can see you can afford the tuition and cost of living , you should be fine

They just ask the estimated costs, the cost like these can differ time to time ! So no need to worry!

In unlikely event asked just say extra cost is for a room with an ensuite bathroom. Seriously do not worry about it as most people estimate living costs from 10k upwards and room rates fluctuate all the time.
