Essentially, I’m waiting since March for my first PR card to arrive. I thought I would have it by July but it seems unlikely. My plan was to travel back home in July for a few weeks, and because of that I didn’t renew my current lease. Now I will need to get an Airbnb for the time being until I wait for my card to arrive. I know the PR letter cannot be forwarded (it comes with a no forwarding message printed) however, would I face any issues if I update my mailing address to a PO Box inside of Canada instead? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For something like that, you may have more luck getting a virtual mailbox rather than an official P.O. Box. They have the option of making you pick up your card in person, so even if they accept P.O. Boxes, that's probably not a good idea. There is a spot on the form for the mailing address, so you probably can do it.
