Hi,

I'm a visa exempt British Citizen. On November 31st my extended visitor status will expire and i plan to go home to England for Christmas.
I will have been in Canada as a visitor for a year.

I plan to submit a PR application with my husband (we will be married in a months time) as my sponsor. And then re-enter Canada in January.

Does anyone know how likely it is that i'll be let back in to Canada, after only being in England for a few weeks?

Thanks

Rebecca

I'm not sure its about how many times you re enter, its more about how long you stay away before you come back in again.

anyone had an similar experiences, ie, stayed for a long time, went home, then came back right away?

Before my husband and I were married, I crossed the border every 2 weeks for a year straight had to go into immigration alot, prove reason for my visit, was even red-flagged in my own country (US) for crossing so much lol (that was a fun day) but, once my country had the reason why I never had another problem...are you applying out-land? if so, be able to prove your only visiting... have a return ticket, worth paying alittle more for refundable ticket, marriage certificate, receipt showing you paid PR fees, if you have the application ready send it by courier and provide that receipt as well when you re-enter this shows you are planning to leave and that you are doing it by the book.... GL!

Oh.. ask for a Visitor's Record I was given 8 months when I entered, and just apply for an extension before it expires...

I think it will be up to an officer. If you get a nice and easy officer, I suppose it won't be a problem. If you get a mean and tough officer..... the chance will be less. How likely, I don't know. I think I've seen a few cases where British nationals have been flagged or denied in this forum while many others have no problem.

05-02-2015 Finally
I've travelled with my boyfriend, a Canadian (either he was coming to my home or me to his) and without him. Usually we don't get too much hassle ( knock on wood) and we been visiting each other every other week. It seems to depend on the border guard largely.
