Will my chances to get student visa decrease if i add my spouse to it?

I've recently applied to one of Canadian universities, and found out that my spouse can i get an open work permit for as long as i study. Some people say i will loose chance to get visa if i add him to my visa application, some says no. Did anybody have this experience ? Should we risk and try...

Having your spouse in your home country is a good criterion to use to show that you'll return to your home country after finishing your studies, but lots of people apply with their spouses and both get approved. I'm one example. I believe that as long as you prove that neither of both has plans to stay in Canada, it should be fine.

You got to consider as well that you have to prove more funds for two people than for one.
