Hi guys,
Today I received DM and next step is landing imtervint, then I'll be going to service Canada to get a permanent sin in place on mine temporary one that starts with 9 .
Now would all my accounts transfer over? Or would I have to rebuild my credit from scratch? That sounds like a crappy prospect

Call equifax to link old account with new sin

Good Luck

No you won't.

Your credit will also be linked to your full name and accompanying details, not just your SIN.

And congratulations!

I think just updating your sin with your creditors (i.e. banks) should be good enough, as they report to the credit agencies every month anyways.

What if you had bad credit from your old SIN? Does that transfer over to your new SIN? Or does the new SIN grant you a fresh clean start?

It transfers over to your new SIN. Basically when you go to Service Canada to have your new SIN issued, they link your old SIN, the one that starts with a "9", to your new SIN and therefore they technically become one account.

No , if you had bad credit before you’ll have bad credit moving forward
Creditors will not wipe your slate clean just because you have a permanent SIN

Thank you all for your responses

that's a relief I got my credit score at 750 and definitely don't wanna rebuild it

How did you get a credit card with a SIN start with 9 because they did not approve mine?
